EB2 to EB3 Downgrade Complete - My Experience

After much deliberation, I downgraded from EB2 to EB3 for faster priority date movement. Here's my story.

Why I downgraded:

• EB2 India PD: March 2015
• Was looking at 15+ more years of waiting
• Kids aging out was a real concern (daughter turns 18 in 2030)
• EB3 India moving faster relatively

The process:

1. Filed new PERM for EB3 (same employer, same job)
2. PERM approved: 6 months
3. Filed new I-140 for EB3
4. I-140 approved (Premium): 2 weeks
5. Requested to port EB2 priority date ...
